Young Sheldon Intro

Description

Year – Jan 2025

Animation/Typography

This is a redesigned intro for Young Sheldon with faster, more playful movement that better matches the energy of the show. The scenes switch quickly, with fun transitions and bold motion that feel more alive and connected to the character.

The colours are soft and retro-inspired — mostly reds, browns, and creams — to match the time period while keeping everything friendly and warm. The goal was to make the intro feel more fun to watch and better reflect the show’s tone.

Storyboard

00.00-01.30

In the first frame, the actor’s name appears from the top, followed by the character’s name rising from the bottom, all while the music palys a flute vibrato.

01.30-01.76

Next, the actor’s name splits like an accordion when the trumpet sound enters, pushing the character name down at the same time.

03.66-05.10

After that, when the next actor and character names are in the center, a third name drops in from the top, pushing the previous names out of the frame.

05.10-06.32

Then, its being pushed left by the next name, and theres a small letter animation here as well because those character names are very similar to one another.

10.06-11.00

After that name disappears, the music slows down note by note, and with each note, a name appears from either the left or right.

06.32-08.52

The name shows up in the center, then gets pushed upward as the next actor’s name appears, one word at a time. It adds a fun, steady movement to the intro.

11.00-11.90

Then, its being pushed left by the next name, and theres a small letter animation here as well because those character names are very similar to one another.

08.52-10.06

Next, the name gets squished from the sides by the upcoming actor’s name. The letters shift with a soft bounce, keeping the energy light and playful while guiding the viewer’s attention.

11.90-16:59

When the trumpet sound signals the end of the song, the show’s name zooms in. When landing, the title has a bouncy effect to add more motion to it.
